Triumph Over Tragedy.
“I’ve lost over ten people, in under ten years;
Shed over a thousand tears, fought through so many fears,
Doubted by many peers — these words reveal whose still here.
& As a man, what I have come to understand…
Is that dwelling on my losses will lead to a life that only tacks on & taxes pain,
That’s already taken place;
And when I see GOD face to face,
I want to know that when He looks for leftover talent,
There’s none to be found, not single trace;
I pray that I put in work while simultaneously bringing HIM Praise,
By the way that I lived my life, for His glory not built on personal strife;
I heard many years ago, that pain is inevitable and misery is optional –
Therefore regardless of my trauma, I still smile at an obstacle;
For obstacles are opportunities and using an opportunity is up to me,
Therefore I shall remain vigilant with my mind, vicious with the pen –
Building up my temple, at the same time praising HIM,
I will not waste my gifts, my drive comes with many shifts;
And year after year, I’ll elevate every gear.”
